Collections at the Library

How to Find & Request a Book

With permission from the librarians at Maine Maritime Academy’s Nutting Memorial Library, here’s a video explaining how to search the library catalog for a book and request it. Though the library is different, we use the same catalog so the same steps will work.

General Collection

  • Fiction – with separate sections for Mystery, Genre Paperbacks, and Stephen King!
  • World Languages Collection – Fiction collection in Portuguese, French and Spanish
  • Non-fiction – special sections on Biography, Cooking, Gardening, Home, Interior Design, and Travel
  • Audio Books on CD – both Fiction and Non-fiction
  • Videos – selections of Theatrical Releases, TV Series, Documentaries, Foreign Films, and Kids
  • Large-Print Books
  • Periodicals – Titles ranging from news commentary to popular interest
  • Newspapers – Portland Press Herald, Boston Globe, New York Times, Wall Street Journal, and Washington Post
  • Rotating Displays – Regular displays for new fiction, non-fiction, and rotating topics
