Join the Readers’ Circle for our Fall ’24 semester of Banned Books!

We are told these books are too dangerous to read so join us in playful celebration of the freedom to read as we read and discuss four books that have been frequently challenged at other public institutions in our country. Some may have you scratching your head as to why people took offense, others may be a little clearer. Join us in reading these books… if you dare…

All discussions are after hours at the library on a Thursday at 7pm.

• September 26th – Bel Canto by Ann Patchett
• October 24th – The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian by Sherman Alexie
• November 21st – Year of Wonders by Geraldine Brooks
• January 30th – The Handmaid’s Tale by Margaret Atwood (in conjunction with this year’s Camden Conference)
