Constant Readers’ : Misery

We close out the year with my favorite King novel, Misery. Novelist Paul Sheldon finds himself in a spot of trouble when he ends up in the clutches of the psychotic Annie Wilkes, his “Number One Fan.” Annie doesn’t approve of Paul’s latest work, and she’s willing to use all the tools at her disposal (including an ax) to make him change his mind. A dark thriller that also serves as an exploration of the power of storytelling over reader and writer, this is one of King’s best.
