Constant Readers’ : On Writing

Do you like Stephen King? Are you curious about the work of the Master of the Macabre but need an excuse to give him a try? Good news! We’re starting a new book group here at Merrill, the Constant Readers’ Club, and our first year will be devoted to sampling King’s writing across a variety of subjects. All are welcome, but be advised: some of these selections are not for the faint of heart.

Our first book will be King’s memoir On Writing.

King’s memoir/writing advice book is a great read: brisk, funny, and filled with useful tips for the burgeoning novelist. It’s an ideal place to either start your King journey or to simply enjoy the pleasures of a great storyteller talking about his craft. King narrates the audiobook version, which is highly recommended.

This drop in book group is open to everyone.
