Readers’ Circle : The Cat Who Saved Books

Bringing our Winter/Spring 2026 “semester” of Readers’ Circle to a close we will be discussing a charming Japanese novel, in English translation, about a book-loving high school student (also the grandson of an antiquarian bookseller) who meets a talking cat named Tiger demanding his help on an epic quest to save books. Together they rescue unread literature and hidden gems from their neglectful owners. This offbeat cozy fantasy novel will finish our series with a much-needed dose of wit and whimsy. If you like this book, you’ll probably love its sequel, The Cat Who Saved the Library (2025).
