Readers’ Circle : The Club Dumas

We begin our season with a suspenseful literary thriller by the acclaimed Spanish author and journalist, Arturo Pérez-Reverte. This book inspired the 1999 film starring Johnny Depp, The Ninth Gate. It tells the story of a professional antiquarian book collector on the hunt for a rare manuscript; on the way, he finds himself embroiled in increasingly nefarious plots involving a Satanic cult, a hanged man, a mysterious woman, and a sinister and diabolical villain.
FYI: For anyone who reads Spanish, feel free to check out our copy of the 30th-anniversary edition of this book in the original language. It’s upstairs in the Study (2nd floor) as part of our small but robust, and ever-expanding, Global Language Fiction Collection.
We we have a new start time for Readers’ Circle of 5:30pm!
