Readers’ Circle: “The Perfect Storm”

Join our long running book club, the Readers’ Circle, for our spring semester of reads.
This Spring enjoy and discuss Nautical Reads with us! Each tale takes place out on the open ocean. For a change of pace we will be reading from a broad selection of genres: non-fiction, magical realism, afrofuturism, and a tried and true classic! Discussions are held on the last Thursday of each month at 7 pm. Copies of each title are available at the library. Let us know if you need help finding a copy.
February’s title is The Perfect Storm by Sebastian Junger. From the catalog record, “The incredible true account of the most extraordinary storm of the 20th century, this is the story of a tempest born from so rare a combination of factors it was deemed ‘perfect’ and of the doomed fishing boat with her crew of six that was helpless in the midst of a force beyond comprehension.”
Future titles this semester:
- February 27th @ 7pm: The Perfect Storm by Sebastian Junger
- March 27th @ 7 pm: Life of Pi by Yann Martel
- April 24th @ 7pm: The Old Man and the Sea by Ernest Hemingway
- May 29th @ 7pm: The Deep by Rivers Solomon
