Tea Time Arts Series : Art & Medicine with the Portland Museum of Art

This session will highlight the many ways that art connects us to ourselves and each other. Together, we will participate in different activities designed to engage with artwork from the PMA’s collection. This participatory, interactive session is designed to showcase the many ways that we utilize art to develop and sustain key life skills such as communication and empathy. We will explore the many ways that the PMA engages with the medical community in Portland, as well as how the role of the arts in well-being and health is rapidly expanding.
Presenter Meghan Quigley Graham is the Director of Learning and Teaching at the Portland Museum of Art. She has been at the PMA for about 12 years, with a short break in that tenure working at Boston art museums, including the Museum of Fine Arts and the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum. In her role at the PMA, she oversees school partnerships, the Museum Educator program (a group of paid guides who lead all guided experiences in the Museum), the Art & Medicine programs, Youth Art Month, and more.
