Tea Time Arts Series : Make Your Own Nature Journal

This introductory bookmaking workshop will support you to make a notebook with both sketch paper and lined paper, perfect for capturing your nature observations this spring. Attendees will leave with a finished notebook and an introduction to simple bookmaking techniques such as creating signatures, stitching them together and finishing them with a sturdy fabric cover.

Feel free to bring your own tight weave cotton fabric or use some provided by the library. Supplies will be provided.

Amelia Garretson-Persans is a Southern Maine based artist and writer and has been making art and teaching in a variety of media for over 20 years. As a writer who often illustrates her own work, Garretson-Persans has enjoyed making books throughout her career. She once masqueraded as a nature writer and illustrator for her award-winning novel, Where the Avonley Seed Falls, a career she never actually went into but often dreams about.
