The Allure of Southern Italy

March 12 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm

For anyone seeking an opportunity for armchair travel, please join us for a one-hour presentation showcasing the beauty and mystery of Southern Italy. Most visitors to Italy flock to the great cities of the north, but many delights await travelers to the southern parts of the country, from Sicily and the Aeolian Islands to the lovely small towns along the “heel of the boot” on the Adriatic Sea. Writer and photographer Ed Robinson spent three weeks in Italy enjoying the people, foods, wildlife, and delightful scenery on all sides. The presentation will entertain and educate with stunning photos and stories with a Q&A session to follow as appropriate.

About the presenter:

Born in the Finger Lakes region of New York, Ed has a life-long love for wild creatures and the natural world around us. After college Ed worked and studied photography at Eastman Kodak, with assignments in Singapore, Mexico, England, and Australia. Ed then spent 40 years in life sciences, leading companies in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical fields across 40 countries. During that time Ed and his family lived in England for 14 years.
They moved to Orr’s Island of Harpswell in 2007. Ed is a trustee and treasurer of the Harpswell Heritage Land Trust. He has published two books of wildlife essays in a series called “Nature Notes from Maine.” Ed’s third book will be published in 2025.
