The Joys of Birdwatching Class 1: Birding Basics

The Joys of Birdwatching is a Six Part introduction to the art and science of birding led by Maine Master Naturalist Christie Constantine. Whether you’re a total beginner or looking to sharpen your skills, this fun and interactive six-part series will introduce you to the tools, techniques, and wonders of birding – from spotting your first chickadee to recognizing warblers by their songs. Each 90 minute class stands alone or can be taken as part of the series. This series is geared toward adults and teens, will be classroom based, and is open to all levels of birding experience!

Class 1: Birding Basics: this session will cover everything you need to know to start watching birds: how to choose and use binoculars, navigate field guides and apps, and find great birding spots. Registration is required.
