Happy New Year everyone! Mike here with a barely belated suggestion for 2023: the Year Compass booklet. Started by a group of friends just over a decade ago, the Year Compass is a list of questions designed to get you thinking about what you want out of the upcoming year in a healthy, productive way. If you’re willing to put in a few hours at the start of the year to figure out what is really important, the Year Compass could be a great way for you to figure out your goals and to set up positive routines for 2023.
The booklet including the questions and instructions is 100% free and can be found at https://yearcompass.com. Users visiting the site from the US should change their location/language selection by clicking the flag in the top right of the page and selecting “English – US English”. Once on the page, click the “download the booklet” button and you are on your way. When you sit down to begin the process you will need a copy of the previous year’s calendar (if you have one) or some other way of remembering what you got up to in 2022. Answering purely from memory may work for some people but I’ve found that my phone’s calendar app is a huge help. Folks who keep a journal will have a nice headstart as well.
If you do find the Year Compass useful, let me know. As of the time of this writing I am still working my way through the first couple of pages of questions. Good luck, and once again: happy New Year!
