MML now has a Seed Library!
The Seed Library is on the second floor near the Information Desk and will be periodically refreshed between March – September (while supplies last). Unlike our library of books, we don’t want any seeds back, they are free for you to take! But we would love to see pictures of what you grow! There is a limit of 3 seed packets per week, but you are welcome to come back throughout the growing season.
You might notice that many of the seeds are “expired”, don’t worry! Seeds are very hardy and can grow healthy plants for sometimes YEARS after their expiration date. The germination rate (the % of seeds that grow into plants) will decrease over time, so just plant a few more seeds than you normally would.
We would like to thank the companies who generously donated their surplus seeds to seed libraries, community gardens, and other non-profit organizations in an effort to feed communities, educate, and inspire a love of growing plants!
