Dear Yarmouth residents and MML patrons,
While the library is closed, we the staff still want to maintain the kind of personal and friendly relationship that we have with you, and one way that we can try to do that is by sharing with you a little of what’s on our minds. You might already follow us on Facebook, but at least during this temporary period of social distancing, we thought we would open one more line of communication. Who knows what you’ll find here: staff recommendations of books or cool websites to check out while you’re stuck at home, a bit of knowledge or wisdom we’ve pondered recently, little nuggets we can share and expound upon briefly. Will anyone read it? We’ll see. In the meantime, it will satisfy our urge to share with our community in the absence of face-to-face interactions. Posts will be open for comment, so it will be the next best thing to having a conversation with you in person.
We’re not sure what to call this blog just yet. So far, suggestions include Librarians Talking Into the Void, Word with Friends (that one is taken), Happy Thoughts for Dark Times, Staff Picks, and Merrill Musings. If you like any one of these or you can come up with something better, leave it in the comments.
We miss you, and we look forward to seeing you in the future. Until then, we look forward to carrying on our relationships online.
